“The Word” Day 23: Grateful

March 12, 2026

GRATEFUL

“Appreciative of benefits received - expressing gratitude.”

As a small child I was taught to always say please and thank you. A good and
solid foundation for each of us. Today, I probably say please and thank you, out of habit most times,
but I am most sincere on the ones that touch me.
So, I asked myself, do I give thanks to God, do I take time to express how grateful I am for my life,
the gifts of family and friends, the creation of the world for me to enjoy, my desires to be closer to Him?
I can answer that with a yes today, especially in Adoration weekly.

I also know it wasn’t always foremost on my mind. So glad I changed.
The definition of the Greek word Eucharisteo (sound familiar) sums it up best for me:
“To show oneself grateful, to give thanks”
takes me directly to ~Colossians 3:17

“And whatever you do, in word or in deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus,
giving thanks to God the Father through Him.”

Abba, Jesus, Holy Spirit, thank you for my life,
let my heart always be grateful
!
