Ready the Way

December 7, 2025

Not only is Advent a time of preparation to the people we long to become, but it is also a time to search and find the person inside that we have lost along the way. Throughout our journey, no matter how young or old, each one of us changes from someone that we once enjoyed being into a “seasoned human” that has “battle scars” causing us to be different. Go back and look deep for that youthful exuberance that allowed you to pretend to be that superhero fighting crime or find something beautiful in the world around you instead of the negativity the media ingrains into our head’s day in and day out or just be vulnerable to love again and forgive like you have never been hurt. But most of all “believe” and ready the way to make room to invite Jesus into your heart again. Let adversity make you “better” not “bitter”.

Accept that this season of Advent as a new beginning. God did not give us His son to us as a grown man already, rather He came as a baby who would grow and learn as a human being that we could follow an example. Without our own imperfection there was no need for a child to be born to take away our sins. Our God is a God that is duped time and time again by us and His response is that He loves us so much that He sends down part of Himself to take on flesh and grow as we grow. The Son of God had a purpose so that we may have one too.

Do not let doubt, fear, jealousy, heartache, worry or any other rough spot steal your Christmas joy. We are to be the light of Christ, but it can do no one else any good if we have not allowed others to first be the light for us. So, take time and “Ready the Way…”
