Reverence
“Honor or respect felt or shown - Profound adoring awed respect “
I feel at times, that many Christians have lost the element of true reverence to God.
I am not saying all, but when I hear “the man upstairs, the big guy in the sky, daddy god” etc.
sounds more like they are buds with God, and reverence has been set aside.
We need to get back to having that awed respect, reverence that is deeply felt
and lived and demonstrated. Let’s not lose sight of what Jesus taught the apostles.
“Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be your Name” (Matthew 6:9)
And St Paul brings it home with Hebrews 12:28
“Therefore, let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken,
and thus, let us offer to God
acceptable worship, with reverence and awe “
Holy and loving God, bend my knee in respect and awe, and fill my heart!
