ASK
“To put a question about, to make a request of, to make a request for.”
I am so, so good at asking for help, input on decisions, directions, recommendations, etc. from
people I know and sometimes total strangers. There have been a couple times I rely on myself to answer.
Seems like the natural thing to do. Yet, over the years I have had a deaf ear to
the command that Jesus gives each one of us, as in (John 14:14),
“Ask me for anything in My name, and I will do it.”
…and again in this verse “Truly, truly, I say to you, if you shall ask the Father for anything,
He will give it to you in My name” (John 16:23)
Wake up JOHN! Why do I have to go anyplace else?!!!
Yet all-encompassing pride steps in front of my heart first.
I am getting better at turning to the Father and Jesus for others, and I’m starting to ask for the things I need most. I must make a habit of including both, even for the small things in my life.
Jesus, crush my pride, so that I may always turn to You and our Father!
