ALMS
“Something given freely to relieve the poor.”
Almsgiving is a key part of the Lenten journey one that we all should embrace with an open heart. We can give in so many ways, and it is never about the amount of money, of time, or of love that is given. If we give freely from the heart God blesses us more than we expect.
For so many years of my life it was easy to write a check
or give money from my pocket.
But it just didn’t seem good enough. Hard to take that first step.
Are we ready to open our eyes and offer our time, our prayers, and walk
with those in need?
Jesus, open my Heart so that I might see!
“But when you give alms, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your alms may be done in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you” (Matthew 6:3-4)
