2010 is closing out and we have made the conscious decision for a better 2011…so “now what??”. Ask yourself a few simple questions like: What are you going to do with all that the past year gave you? What did it bring you to be thankful for? What did it send your way to learn from? What did it remind you that you need to be better about?
As I look back and reflect, 2010 showed me how strong I am but how easily I fall. It showed me that I am a good person, but I can always find room for others who need a little more of my time. I found new friends who welcome me into their lives like I am family, but I need to always remember who “brought me to the dance”. I realized just how much I really do know but I am humbled to see there is always room for someone to educate me about life. I looked for ways to build a deeper understanding towards fulfillment and ended up with more questions. I saw that I am capable, but I will be open to a new and better way.
We do not need to beat ourselves up over anything that we did or did not do, however we need to seize the opportunities to make sure that every moment is worth it. We have to be open for our self to know that life is bigger than we are and if we take ourselves too seriously another year just passes by without adding value. Answer the question, “what did 2010 do for you?” Above all, let things make you “better” not “bitter”.
So, for 2011 I say, if you were loved, love back even more. If someone prayed for you today, pray for them ALL week. If someone hurt you, let them see you can move on and still care. If it didn’t work, find a new way to make it a success. If you are convicted, regardless of the immediate outcome, don’t quit. And if you got up today, it’s more than a lot of others could say.
Thank you for your love and support and together we can make many more great years together.
